About Us - Qatar Fund For Development

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) is the State of Qatar’s international development provider dedicated to promoting human development, poverty alleviation, strengthening health services and educational systems, supporting economic development, mobilizing humanitarian aid, and enhancing communities’ resilience towards climate change.
We advocate the shared value that everyone has an inalienable right to a self-reliant present and a self-determined future by implementing initiatives that foster coordinated, effective, and sustainable support to communities and countries in need, whilst adhering to key development effectiveness and humanitarian principles to ensure no one is left behind.
Guided by the State’s National Vision 2030 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, we aim to make Qatar a leading actor in international development. Partnering with multilateral agencies, bilateral providers, the private sector, civil society organizations (CSOs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), we provide flexible and project-based funding and core contributions through grants, concessional loans, guarantees, and development investments.
QFFD functions as a linchpin, weaving together various entities within Qatar, from state institutions to humanitarian organizations and UN agencies. The Fund promotes innovation and maintains predictability and flexibility in financing development and humanitarian interventions that build resilience in countries, communities, and individuals in need, lead a better future, give hope, and promote peace and justice.

Underpinned by the belief that fostering human potential is a prerequisite for societies to thrive, the State Qatar under the wise leadership of His Highness, the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, has dramatically increased its international aid programmes and development co-operation, facilitating numerous development assistance and humanitarian aid in many countries around the globe.

Stability, security, peace and justice for the peoples of the region and the world cannot be realized without the achievement of inclusive sustainable development. We, at QFFD, work with our friends and partners around the world to provide the tools and strategies that help realize this development.

QFFD has contributed to relieving human suffering, investing in education, health and economic development. We believe that these are critical strategies to combat violence and violent extremism. Such contributions help to inspire hope and help make the pen an alternative to weapons,especially among social sectors such as children and youth.

As Qatar’s development assistance agency, QFFD is committed to aiding countries around the world, by providing various financial instruments and projects to achieve global sustainable development goals. We are devoted to giving hope to all and promoting peace and justice through sustainable and inclusive development.

Since its inception, QFFD has steadfastly committed to supporting initiatives and projects that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our efforts cover various sectors, including education, health, environmental sustainability, economic development, and humanitarian assistance. We aim to create enduring impacts that contribute significantly to the Sustainable Development Agenda through strategic investments, partnerships, and innovative solutions.

QFFD has made significant strides in enhancing Qatar’s role in achieving sustainable development, particularly through active engagement in numerous conferences and forums alongside other official development assistance agencies and international humanitarian organizations. Furthermore, QFFD maintains continuous coordination with local and international partners to strategize and swiftly implement humanitarian responses in countries requiring urgent assistance.

With an approach well grounded in collaboration and inclusivity, QFFD works in close partnership with governments, international organizations, private sector entities, and local communities to seek projects that address the most pressing development challenges. Our objective is to ensure that our interventions are not only effective but also sustainable, thereby enabling communities to thrive on a longer term.
