Qatar Fund for Development participated in the first High-level Strategic Dialogue between OCHA and the State of Qatar to explore ways of strengthening the humanitarian sector around the world
Mr. Sultan Ahmed Al-Aseeri, Acting Director General of QFFD, participated in the first High-level Strategic Dialogue between OCHA and the State of Qatar.
Where QFFD participated in different session addressing the collaboration with UNOCHA and exploring ways to enhance the cooperation. In addition to exploring ways to support humanitarian sector, and diving deep into innovative approaches and seeking effective practices to address the challenges that faces the humanitarian sector globally.
In the High-level Segment that discussed the Humanitarian Outlook for 2024 and identify areas for strengthening collaboration between the State of Qatar and OCHA, working towards addressing humanitarian challenges through mediation and negotiation. During his keynote speech Mr. Sultan Ahmed Al-Aseeri, Deputy Director General of Development Projects of QFFD ,Said:” As we look to the future, the State of Qatar remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting OCHA’s endeavors. We hope that through our continued partnership, we can not only respond to crises but also prevent them, building a foundation for lasting peace and stability.”
The Segment was participated by H.E. Lolwah bint Rashid Al-Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Director, International Organization Department, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Who gave the opening remarks. In addition to Mr. Mr. Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Mr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity , Mr. Faisal Al-Emadi, CEO of Qatar Red Crescent Society , Mr. Fahad Al-Sulaiti, CEO of Education Above All , Mr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Ms. Lisa Doughten OCHA’s Director of Financing and Partnerships Division.
This dialogue came with an aim to enhance the engagement and relationship between The State of Qatar officials and OCHA’s leadership to ensure regular strategic engagement on a range of partnerships issues. Also is sets the strategic priorities and areas of collaboration increase humanitarian needs. This strategic Dialogue marks the milestone of the collaboration between OCHA and the State of Qatar
