Memorandum of Understanding between Qatar Fund for Development and Al Jazeera Media Network to Enhance Media Support for Humanitarian and developmental work
The Qatar Fund for Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Jazeera Media Network to promote media support for humanitarian and developmental work, and to spread the culture of human rights and international humanitarian law, on the sidelines of the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH).
The memorandum entails organizing workshops and training activities in the field of media covering the human rights and international laws, as well as launching initiatives aimed at spreading the culture of development and human rights as a basic human right and a common goal between both institutions.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Sami Al Haj, Director of Al Jazeera Center for Public Freedoms and Human Rights at Al Jazeera Media Network, and Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Dabbagh, Deputy Director General for Planning at the Qatar Fund for Development.
“This agreement will contribute to highlighting the cooperation in the field of developmental and humanitarian work as a fundamental human right around the world, where there are many unique achievements in the field of development and humanity that can be highlighted and recognized as well as the reproduction of its experience. At Qatar Fund for Development We have great confidence that cooperation with Al Jazeera Media Network will make a quantum leap in the definition of the Fund’s development achievements around the world “said Mr. Al-Dabbagh
“The signing of the memorandum of understanding with Qatar Fund for Development(QFFD), that is concerned with the coordination and implementation of development assistance projects in the region and all over the world, reinforces the concept of international cooperation, which is the main objective between both partners, in addition to promoting the role of humanitarian work.” Mr. Al-Hajj
The two institutions seek to enhance the role of media in highlighting the great efforts of humanitarian organizations to alleviate the suffering of communities in times of conflict and crisis, to enable them to be heard, and to receive humanitarian and development assistance.
The MoU allows the exchange of experience and views to enable the staff of both parties to increase their knowledge and develop their skills in spreading the culture of human rights and humanitarian law.
