Qatar Development Fund Participates in Collaboration Agreement Signing Ceremony Marks a Milestone in Global Education

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), participated in the Collaboration Agreement Signing Ceremony “Together as Enablers of Global Prosperity” collaboration among QFFD, Qatar University (QU), and African Business Schools. A landmark agreement funded by Qatar Fund for Development fostering a significant partnership between Qatar University’s College of Business and Economics, University of Dar Es Salaam Business School, University of the Gambia, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, Lakeside University College, Ghana, and University of Nairobi, Kenya. The event, held on 13 May 2024 at Qatar University, brought together esteemed representatives and leaders from academia, governmental bodies, and international organizations to solidify commitments towards advancing education on a global scale. This collaboration aims to transform business education across Africa by enhancing curriculum development, scientific research, and strategic management.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Rana Sobh, Dean of the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University, followed by the unveiling of a powerful launch video, setting the tone for collaboration and innovation in education. HE Dr. Omar Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of Qatar University, and H.E. Mr. Khalifa Bin Jassim Al-Kuwari, the Director General of Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), graced the occasion with their insightful addresses, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and investment in education for sustainable development.

In addition to the esteemed speakers, representatives from AACSB and African Business Schools shared their perspectives on the future of business education and the role of academia in driving socio-economic progress. The ceremony culminated in the signing of the Collaboration Agreement, symbolizing a commitment to mutual support, knowledge exchange, and partnership in addressing global education challenges.

HE Khalifa Al-Kuwari, Director General of QFFD, said: ” As the Fund seeks to enhance the quality of workers’ management education in our partner countries through intellectual exchanges and capacity-building initiatives and strategic cooperation, we aim at stimulating economic growth, Promote innovation and empower individuals to realize their full potential by strengthening partnerships with organizations such as the Association of African Business Colleges and international accreditation bodies to ensure that our efforts are excellence-based and compatible with global educational best practices.”
