Qatar Fund for Development Fund , through The Qatar Friendship Fund- Tunisa , signs five partnership agreements with Tunisian financial institutions to fund youth entrepreneurs
Qatar Fund for Development Fund through The Qatar Friendship Fund- Tunisa signed five new partnership agreements worth 15 million US $ with Tunisian banking and financial institutions, namely Zitouna Tamkeen, Enda Tamweel, Asad Tamweel, Microcrad, Small and Medium Enterprises “, which was signed in the Tunisian capital during a festive event .
The signing ceremony was attended by HE Mr. Reza Shalghoum, Minister of Finance, HE Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Development Fund, and HE Saad Bin Nassir Al Humaidi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Tunisia .
The three-to-ten-year agreements will contribute to combating unemployment through job opportunities, providing economic empowerment to marginalized groups by providing funding opportunities and promoting social justice for sectors and areas in need. Fund managers are keen to make young people more aware of pioneering entrepreneurial skills and support, providing and improving living facilities through the promotion and development of micro and small enterprises .
In addition to economic empowerment, the project aims to support the balance between different regions to reduce the disparities within the framework of what is known as positive discrimination, thus contributing to protecting the youth of these regions from all forms of extremism .
The loans granted by Qatar Fund for Development through the Qatari-Tunisian Friendship Fund through the aforementioned financial and banking institutions include young people from 18 to 40 who will directly and indirectly benefit from the services of 90,000 young men and women .
Since its establishment in 2013 of The Qatar Friendship Fund- Tunisa was able to reach the most vulnerable groups in Tunisia, including women, young people and residents of the remote areas, where these groups are particularly vulnerable to unemployment .
In his speech, Minister of Finance Reza Shalghoum stressed that the projects of The Qatar Friendship Fund- Tunisa, financed by Qatar Fund for Development Fund, are among the government’s priorities, especially for the financing of youth projects. The general mandates have become difficult due to the pressures of public finances .
For his part , His Excellency Mr. Al-Kuwari said that the aim of these agreements is Kavhh m unemployment and promote justice in the E. disadvantaged social areas and encourage youth entrepreneurship .
His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Humaidi explained Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Tunisia said that the agreements with Tunisian institutions will serve young people by creating jobs and building institutions and companies benefiting the private sector and for development in Tunisia, stressing the constant readiness of the State of Qatar to support Tunisia and further link the relations between the two peoples. .
