Qatar Fund for Development, in Partnership with Education Above All Foundation and the Qatar Red Crescent Society, Continue Supporting Children in Gaza through the “Eid Gifts Campaign”
Doha, Qatar – 25 June 2025 – In a humanitarian gesture that embodies the spirit of solidarity and a shared commitment to supporting children and families in conflict-affected areas, Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, in partnership with the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and with support from the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), successfully concluded the delivery of Eid Gifts to support Palestinian refugee families and children in Jordan. Coinciding with the celebration of Eid Al-Adha, the campaign aims to ease the burden on families and bring moments of joy and dignity to children affected by crisis.
The “Eid Gifts Campaign” aims to collect new clothing and school bags for children and families in Gaza and Syria, and has successfully gathered over 85,000 brand-new items thanks to widespread community support and the generous contributions of numerous local companies. The collection took place across 18 different locations throughout Qatar, reflecting the deep-rooted values of generosity and solidarity in Qatari society and exemplifying the strong sense of social responsibility that defines the local private sector.
This latest phase of the campaign builds on earlier efforts that brought aid to children and families in Syria during Eid Al-Fitr, and now extends to refugee Palestinian families and children for Eid Al-Adha, delivering a message of solidarity, dignity, and humanity. It reaffirms the importance of meeting children’s essential needs, especially during holidays that symbolize hope, compassion, and celebration.
Thousands of new clothing items and school bags have been distributed to refugee Palestinian children and families in Jordan, in an effort to bring a sense of joy and comfort despite the severe conditions caused by the blockade and ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Ms. Taj Suleiman, Director of Communications and Private Sector Partnerships at Education Above All Foundation, said: “The Eid Gifts Campaign reflects our joint commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families in conflict-affected areas, not only by addressing basic needs, but by offering them moments of happiness they so deeply deserve during the Eid holidays. We are proud of this meaningful partnership with the Qatar Red Crescent Society and the Qatar Fund for Development, which has allowed us to translate humanitarian values into real, tangible support for those who need it most.”
Mr. Yuosef Ahmad Al-Mulla, Acting Manager of Humanitarian Aid Department at the Development Projects Sector at QFFD stated, “In times of unimaginable hardship, it is vital for the State of Qatar and QFFD to stand in solidarity with the families in Gaza—not only by meeting basic needs, but by preserving their sense of dignity and childhood. Something as simple as receiving new clothes carries deep meaning; it restores a sense of self, of being cared for, of still having a place in the world. This effort continues what we began during Eid Al-Fitr—creating moments of joy in the midst of pain, and reaffirming identity where it is being tested the most. It also stands as a testament to the power of longstanding, strategic partnerships—particularly between Education Above All and the Qatar Red Crescent Society—whose unwavering collaboration continues to deliver life-affirming support to the most vulnerable. Their joint efforts embody not only compassion, but a deep-rooted commitment to coordinated, effective humanitarian response that restores dignity and sustains hope amid crises.”
Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bishri, Assistant Secretary-General for Communication and Resource Development, praised the fruitful and ongoing collaboration with Education Above All Foundation in the Eid Gifts Campaign, which has been implemented for the second consecutive year and witnessed remarkable engagement from both Qatari citizens and residents. Their active contributions of in-kind donations, clothing and toys—have played a vital role in supporting displaced or refugee Palestinian families. He noted that this year, the campaign’s reach expanded to include beneficiaries in both Gaza and Syria, adding: “Throughout the campaign, Qatar Red Crescent volunteers have been the unsung heroes, efficiently carrying out all the necessary organizational and logistical tasks. A portion of the aid shipment was delivered inside Syria and distributed during Eid Al-Fitr. As for the shipments designated for Gaza, we are currently awaiting clearance for entry through the crossings. We hope this will be possible soon, so the children and families of Gaza can enjoy these new clothes and experience moments of joy amid the challenging conditions they are enduring.”
