Qatar Fund for Development inaugurates the Assilah residential complex in the Kingdom of Morocco
A high-level delegation from Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), led by HE Mr. Khalifa Al Kuwari, Director General of QFFD, participated in the opening ceremony of the Assilah housing project, during an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. The ceremony was held in the presence of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Mohammed Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Morocco، in addition to representatives of the state and the Ministry of National Territory Preparation, Construction, Housing and City Policy and in addition to high-level and important figures from Moroccan society.
The residential complex, located in Bir Al-Souk, will provide its services by building 12 buildings consisting of 3 floors and a basement floor, and each floor contains 4 apartments, each apartment has an area of 72 square meters. In addition to a kindergarten and 4 shops serving the residential complex.
During his speech, HE Mr. Khalifa Al-Kuwari, Director General of Qatar Fund for Development, said: “Today we are opening together this important architecture to continue this journey of humanitarian giving to be a new hope, especially considering the economic crises and major challenges, including the Corona pandemic crisis and the climate change crisis. The State of Qatar is keen to provide basic livelihoods, which are the right of every human being.”
For his part, Mr. Mohammed bin Issa, Secretary-General of the Assilah Forum, said: “The Assilah Forum Foundation has provided a real estate container with an area of one and a half hectares. The Foundation also supervised the tracking of construction operations, covering the costs of preservation, registration, apartment division, and the rest of the complementary operations. Regarding the connection of water, electricity, and sensation.”
He added: “The Asilah Forum Foundation considers the contribution of Qatar Fund for Development to be a token of the strong brotherly relations and the spirit of cooperation and partnership that exists between the two brotherly countries.”
For his part, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Mohammed Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Morocco, said: “Today, in the city of Assilah, the inauguration of the last phase of the project to build 204 housing units financed by the State of Qatar through Qatar Fund for Development.”
HE added: “This project is a confirmation and support for the bonds between the two brotherly peoples of Qatar and Morocco, and to activate the interest that the State of Qatar attaches to supporting social and development projects in Morocco.”
This project will play an important role in supporting the Moroccan society and the Moroccan people by ensuring the availability of adequate housing for them with the aim of providing a decent life and a promising future. This project is also an affirmation of the long-standing bilateral relations between the two countries and the continuous efforts to strengthen this relationship in a fruitful and persistent manner. The State of Qatar continues its interest in helping its brothers.
