Qatar Fund for Development participates in the “Education to Combat the Climate Crisis” side event, hosted by EAA, during the High-Level Political Forum

In close partnership with Education Above All, Qatar Fund for Development participates in a side panel under the theme “Education to Combat the Climate Crisis,” during the proceedings of the 2024 United Nations HLPF on development.

Ms. Haya Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Qatar Fund for Development, affirmed the fund’s commitment by stating: “Participating in EAA’s panel on combating climate crisis through education afforded us an opportunity to showcase the various projects that QFFD has adopted since its inceptions that directly addresses global concerns on climate change. A special focus was given to our ongoing efforts of leveraging our  strategic partnerships to integrate climate education into development projects, especially in the most vulnerable of communities.”

Key contributions towards building climate resilience and sustainable economic growth in regions affected by climate change that QFFD  has undertaken were brought forward as examples of the Funds commitment towards addressing concerns on the ongoing climate change crisis, which included QFFDs collaboration with UNDP on the Accelerator Labs, its support for Green Entrepreneurship such as the Eastern Caribbean Green Entrepreneurship Initiative and The Pacific Green Entrepreneur Network to name a few.

Through such attendances, Qatar Fund for Development is taking vast steps in supporting our partners who are committed to the provision of quality education across the globe and combatting the climate crisis.
