Qatar Fund for Development sends 1400 tons of urgent humanitarian aid to support the Palestinian people

In alignment with the State of Qatar’s ongoing efforts in providing relief to the Palestinian people in Gaza, Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) sent 1400 tons of humanitarian aid today, via a ship that departed from the port of Mersin in the Republic of Turkey and is expected to arrive at the port of Al-Erish in the Arab Republic of Egypt in the coming days.
Attending the aid ship’s departure ceremony today, H.E, Lolwa Al-Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mr. Münir Karaloğlu, Turkish Deputy Minister of interior, Mr. Yasin Ekrem Serim, Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Okay Memiş, Head of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and a delegation from Qatar Fund for Development.
The ship that was sent meets the basic needs of the Palestinian people, including food supplies, health and hygiene supplies, in addition to shelter supplies.
The ship, which carries 1900 ton in cooperation with the republic of Turkey of wide range of vital relief materials, is expected to arrive at the port of Al-Erish in the coming days. This aid is considered the largest amount of shipments transported in one trip from the State of Qatar since the start of the ongoing relief efforts since October 7th. This shipment comes as a continuation of the efforts of the State of Qatar through the air bridge, of total load reached about 2,800 tons of various aid.
