October 9, 2024

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has sent 35 tonnes of urgent humanitarian aid to support the brotherly Lebanese people. The aid was transported via two aircraft belonging to the Qatari Emiri Air Force. The first plane carried aid provided by QFFD, while the second transported aid in collaboration between QFFD and the French Republic. The assistance included 17 ventilators, 2,000 blankets, 2,000 pillows, 2,000 mattresses, in addition to other medical supplies.

The aid shipment was overseen by H.E. Mrs. Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Mr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Aseeri, Acting Director General of QFFD.

This aid aims to strengthen the resilience of the Lebanese people and meet their urgent needs in light of the current challenges. It underscores Qatar’s commitment to international cooperation and humanitarian support, reflecting Qatar’s solidarity with the Lebanese people during these difficult times caused by the ongoing Israeli aggression.
