Qatar Fund for Development Signs A Memorandum of Understanding with Generation Amazing Foundation and Qatar Charity

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed a memorandum of understanding between Generation Amazing Foundation and Qatar Charity (QC). This memorandum of understanding aims to support sport-led projects that advocate for the joint QFFD & QC Sport for Development and Peace initiative that promotes sports as a tool for peace and development in vulnerable communities.
Through a long-term partnership and collaboration between QFFD, QC, and Generation Amazing Foundation, this partnership will ultimately benefit all the targeted communities in need. Under this strategic collaboration, all parties would have access to locally and internationally established global stakeholders and partners in connection with implementing one or more sporting-related projects at events and activations. Through active engagement and cooperation, campaigns that promote peace and development to aid the most vulnerable communities.

Nasser Al Khori, Executive Director of Generation Amazing Foundation, said, “We are happy to join Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity in this vital effort of creating positive change through the Sport for Development and Peace initiative. The project aims to impact more than 6000 lives through sports, specifically to bring lasting impact to the lives of refugee children in Palestine. The goal is to work alongside our partner Palestine Sport for Life to strengthen teachers’ capacities in delivering sport-based activities for youth and equipping young adults and children with disabilities with global competency skills. Through the program, we also intend to improve their circumstance and well-being by providing safe spaces, especially for young girls to play sports.”
“We, through the ‘Sport for Development and Peace’ initiative, and in partnership with several international partners, seek to take advantage of the inspiring capabilities of sport in bringing about positive change in the life of the vulnerable, creating social peace among peoples, and overcoming differences and obstacles,” said Mr. Nawaf Abdullah Al Hammadi, CEO’s Assistant for International Operations and Programs at Qatar Charity. “We have extensive experience supporting people affected by crises and disasters and implementing sustainable and development projects to confront poverty and support the vulnerable,” Al Hammadi added.
He also indicated, “Over the past years, we have taken important steps through this initiative, in cooperation with QFFD and a group of partners, and made remarkable achievements. We, through the current strategic partnership with QFFD and Generation Amazing Foundation, hope to achieve more impact by expanding cooperation and making a positive difference in conflict-affected areas and in the life of poverty-stricken communities. We are delighted that this signing coincided with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
