Qatar Fund for Development Visits Healthcare Clinics and Health Projects in Partnership with Qatar Charity & Qatar Red Crescent Dedicated for Syrian Refugees at Zaatari Camp in The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
A high-level delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Khalifa Jassim Al Kuwari, Director General of Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), initiated an inspection tour of the QFFD’s health projects of the Zaatari camp in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where the delegation visited health care clinics providing various health services to Syrian refugees, which the QFFD contributes to its financing.
The visit was attended by H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Jordan, Mr. Nawaf Al-Hammadi, Chief of Operations and International programs sector at Qatar Charity, Mr. Faisal Al-Emadi, Acting Secretary-General at the Qatar Red Crescent, and Mr. Karl Shukr, Director of Philanthropy and International Partnerships for the International Rescue Committee in addition to high-level figures.
The delegation was accompanied by representatives from Qatar Charity (QC), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCs), International Rescue Committee (IRC), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and were briefed on the latest developments regarding health centers, how they work in the camp and the coordination between Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent with the UNHCR and the most important aspects of the work they are doing in Jordan for Syrian refugees.
The primary objective of this field visit is to Identify the workflow mechanism for the provision of primary and specialized health care services in various fields. In addition to interacting with and interacting with health service recipients on their satisfaction with the services provided in the camp, reviewing project activities from the recently signed grant agreement with QC and QRCs and the upcoming agreement with IRC.
The strategic partners in Qatar Charity (QC), the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), also briefed the QFFD delegation on the most important developments regarding health centers and their functioning in the Zaatari camp in addition to highlighting the ongoing coordination between the QC and the QRCS to ensure comprehensive health care support in the camp.
The Zaatari camp, hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is the largest Syrian refugee camp in the world, which is home to more than 80,000 Syrian refugees, knowing that half of the Syrian refugees based in Jordan are children.
It is important to note that this inspection field visit is not the first of its kind; rather, it is a part of regular visits meant to monitor project progress sustainably and effectively, with a particular emphasis on reaching target groups and the most vulnerable individuals and guaranteeing the fulfillment of transparency and quality standards.
