The ceremony, held at the Geneva Graduate Institute, marked the culmination of the Executive program of Advanced Studies in Development Policies and Practices for the Middle East and North Africa Region (DPP-MENA) and the Executive program of Advanced Studies in Conflict and Fragility Management (CFM).
The ceremony was a momentous occasion, attended by distinguished guests, faculty members, and representatives from partner organizations. The graduates of the DPP-MENA program were recognized for their commitment to addressing unique challenges in the Middle East and North Africa, focusing on sustainable solutions and with a particular focus on sustainable solutions and leadership. Similarly, CFM graduates were acknowledged for their immersion in conflict and fragility management, developing policies and practices for conflict-affected settings.
Congratulating the graduates, emphasizing their significant accomplishments and the global impact of their education, Asma Al-Moraisi, Deputy Director General at Qatar Fund for Development stated in her speech: “The partnership between GGI, HBKU, and Qatar Scholarships extends beyond academics, empowering graduates to innovate solutions to global challenges. Your role as leaders is crucial in creating a peaceful, just, and sustainable world. The Qatar Fund for Development reaffirms its commitment to supporting quality education globally and looks forward to witnessing your positive impacts.”
Dr. Alexandre Freire, Director of Executive Programs in DPP and CFM at GGI stated: “The gathering of development professionals from more than 45 countries here today would not have been feasible without the unwavering trust and support of our donors (Swiss Agency of Development and Cooperation, QFFD, and State of Geneva). We deeply appreciate their confidence in our program. The sustained support we have received from our donors throughout the years stands as a testament to the value that our respective governments place on educating those who play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the development of their nations and communities. We are also grateful for their shared commitment to a vision of a world founded on principles of solidarity, mutual understanding, equity, justice, and peace.”
Dr. Evren Tok, Associate Dean of Community Engagement, CPP, and HBKU Coordinator for the GGI, added: “This partnership demonstrates Qatar’s deep commitment to global development and peace. Both programs also built human, institutional, and social capacities that cultivate future leaders, policymakers, and changemakers.”
Qatar Scholarships Program is proud of its graduates and looks forward to seeing the impact they will have on their communities as leaders of the future.
