5/9/2025
In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, five aircraft of the Qatari Amiri Air Force arrived today in the Afghan capital, Kabul, carrying 97.7 tons of humanitarian aid provided by the Qatar Fund for Development. This delivery comes as part of the ongoing air bridge operated by the State of Qatar, aimed at alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Afghan people following the earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan.
The aid comprises fully equipped field hospitals with medical and surgical supplies, shelter tents for affected families, and essential hygiene kits, following the first batch, bringing the total to nine aircraft carrying 158.7 tons of aid, benefiting nearly 11,000 people.
The Qatari International Search and Rescue Group, part of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), also contributed to the response by deploying specialized teams with their equipment for search, rescue, and debris removal, alongside a field medical team providing urgent healthcare support.
These efforts underscore the State of Qatar’s commitment to supporting the brotherly Afghan people and reflect QFFD’s dedication to rapid response and strengthening the resilience of affected communities.
