The Qatar Fund for Development on behalf of the State of Qatar signs a $50 Million Multi-Year Contribution Agreement with the Global Fund
The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) signs a 3 year Multi-Year Contribution Agreement with the Global Fund in the amount of $50 Million. The partnership aims to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria by 2030 thereby contributing to the Sustainable Development Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
The new Multi-Year Contribution Agreement will further strengthen the partnership established in 2017 between QFFD and the Global Fund where QFFD made a contribution of $10 million for a first funding cycle.
The Global Fund’s long standing commitment to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics is well aligned with Qatar Fund for Development’s overarching goal of promoting health as a central component for sustainable development and empowering people to lead a healthy and prosperous life. QFFD is proud of the strategic partnership forged with the Global Fund over the past years; we are proud that our partnership continues to provide smart and effective health investments and, in doing so, contributes to saving millions of lives by providing treatment and healthcare services to millions of vulnerable people in more than 100 countries.
Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, QFFD has pledged $50 million towards the Global Fund’s Sixth Replenishment. This commitment will help the Global Fund to achieve health for all, eradicate incurable diseases and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3 on health.
